CLASSES: FROM BEGINNERS TO ADVANCED

We offer a weekly timetable of classes that caters to students from complete beginners to those in more advanced examination classes, ensuring flexibility to meet your child's needs. Beginners Ballet classes are designed for children aged 3 to 4 and last 30 minutes, introducing basic ballet concepts through movement, storytelling, mime, and music. Pre-Primary and Primary ballet classes, aimed at children aged 5 to 6 years, last for 40 minutes and help students progress to performing simple exercises, mimes, and dances while developing their musical appreciation; children may opt to enter examinations (Imperial Ballet Method) from the age of 5. For students aged seven and above, we offer ISTD Grades 1 - 6 intermediate and advanced classes that prepare more serious pupils for annual examinations, allowing children to begin ballet at any age and join at appropriate levels. Additionally, we provide Adult Ballet classes on Tuesdays at 11 am and Thursdays at 1 pm, allowing adults to engage in dance regardless of their experience level.

CLASS UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS FOR GIRLS

For Beginners, Junior, and Pre-Primary ballet, the uniform consists of a pink skirted leotard, pink ballet socks, a regulation pink headband, and pink leather shoes with elastics. Hair should be styled in a traditional "ballet bun"; if this is not possible, please tie it neatly in a ponytail with no bunches and secure the headband with two kirby grips. For Primary to Grade 4, students should wear a purple lycra leotard (without a skirt), pink ballet tights, a regulation purple headband, and pink leather or canvas ballet shoes with elastics. The same hair guidelines apply. For Grade 5 and upwards, the uniform includes a black lycra leotard (with a separate skirt), pink ballet tights, and pink leather or canvas ballet shoes with ribbons or elastics. If your daughter has ribbons but cannot tie them correctly, please remove them and revert to elastics to avoid wasting class time. Hair must be styled in a traditional "ballet bun" secured with two kirby grips; printed instructions are available.

UNIFORM FOR BOYS AND OPTIONAL CARDIGANS FOR GIRLS

Cross-over cardigans are optional and not required during the summer term, as the hall tends to be very warm. We encourage parents to remove their daughter's cardigan before class to avoid wasting time on removing and locating unlabelled cardigans. The uniform for boys of all ages consists of a regulation white bodysuit, navy or black lycra shorts, white socks, and black leather shoes.
